OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2010. The last, sixteenth concrete container UKH-123 (packing storage set-123) was shipped to the partners from Kazakhstan. The transportation casks TUK are meant for storage of waste nuclear fuel of the fast neutrons reactor BN-350 put out of the action. The last container will be delivered to the reactor platform soon.

"We can call the Contract, negotiated in 2008, completed. Works on the concrete containers UKH-123 construction are finished. There are no claims or complaints in respect of the delivered items from the customer", Chief specialist on the Industrial Use Production Subdivision Ekaterina Gylyova says. Final negotiations on the results of completion of the Contract will take place on 15 September5. LLP "KATEP" (Kazakhstan), US Department of Energy and Sevmash representatives will take part in these negotiations.

The Industrial Use Production Subdivision started construction of the transportation casks for storage of waste nuclear fuel being under the direction of M.A. Budnichenko. Successful fulfillment of the contract on the concrete containers UKH-123 construction was carried out under the direction of Head of the Industrial Use Production Subdivision A.P. Abarbarchuk. Sevmash governing board considers TUK construction to be a perspective development line and keeps on supporting it. At present time the enterprise is constructing UKH-109 for Leningrad Atomic Power-Plant. Based on the concluded Contract, Sevmash will deliver about 50 containers for Leningrad Atomic Power-Plant.
