OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2010. UC RUSAL (SEHK: 486, EuroNext: RUSAL/RUAL), the world’s largest aluminium producer, announces the appointment of CEO deputies Alexander Livshits and Vera Kurochkina to its Board of Directors.

Vera Kurochkina has been working for RUSAL since 2003 and has been the head of PR Directorate since 2006.

She is responsible for developing and implementing of UC RUSAL communications strategy, supporting key company’s projects in the media, charity and social programmes, internal communications, establishing cooperation ties with industrial and non-commercial associations.

Alexander Livshits has been the head of Directorate for International Projects of RUSAL since 2001. He is responsible for developing relations with strategically important regions and directs a number of the Company’s projects in the Ukraine, Armenia, Australia, Nigeria and other countries.

Biographies:

Vera Kurochkina

Ms. Kurochkina was born in 1970. In 1993 she graduated from the Russian University of Peoples Friendship in Moscow with honors and successfully pursued her studies in the Finance Academy of the Russian Government with a degree in finance management. Since 2006 Vera Kurochkina has been holding the position of PR Director of RUSAL. In 2007 she was awarded with the national prize in public relations “Silver archer” for the project of UC RUSAL “Russians are coming”. During the past five years Vera Kurochkina has been taken leading positions in Ranking of PR and corporate relations directors issued by The Russian Managers Association and Kommersant newspaper. In 2003-2006 Vera Kurochkina was head of RUSAL’s mass media relations department. In 2001-2003 she was the PR and marketing director in LUXOFT. In 2000-2001 Vera Kurochkina managed a group of projects in Mikhailov & Partners, a strategic communications agency. In 1998 - 2000 she was a marketing and communications manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Alexander Livshits

Alexander Livshits was born in 1946. In 1971 he graduated from the Plekhanov Moscow Institute of National Economy where he specialized in economic cybernetics. Doctor of Science Economics, professor. Alexander Livshits has been Director for international and special projects of RUSAL since 2001. In 2000-2001 Mr. Livshits was the Chairman of the Russian Credit Bank and the President of Brussels International Banking Club. From 1999 to 2000 he was the Minister and a representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the affairs of the industrial countries in G-8. From 1997 to 1998 he was the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration and representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the affairs of the industrial countries in G-8. In 1996 he was appointed as the Minister for Finance and Deputy Head of the Russian government. In the same year he became a representative of the Russian Federation in the International Monetary Fund and in 1997 he became a representative of the Russian President at the National Banking Council. From 1994 to 1996 he held the role of the economic advisor to the Russian President. In 1994 he was appointed as the Head of a group of experts for the Russian President. In September 1993 he was taking part of a working group on the analytical provision of constitutional reforms. From April 1992 he was the Deputy Head of the Analytical Centre of the Presidential Administration. From 1971 to 1992 Mr. Livshits was a post-graduate student, a lecturer, an assistant professor, a professor and the head of the political economy chair at the Moscow Machinery Institute.
