PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA DMITRY MEDVEDEV: Mr Lukashenko, Mr Nazarbayev, it is a great pleasure to welcome you in Moscow.

First of all I would like to express our shared satisfaction with the momentum of our teamwork. We are making giant strides towards our goal: the development of the Customs Union and the establishment of Common Economic Space. This is only the third meeting we have held on the issue; the previous ones took place in Minsk on November 27, 2009, and in Astana on July 5, 2010. Each time these meetings were marked by new successes.

Mr Lukashenko, Mr Nazarbayev and I would like to thank everyone who participated in the preparation of these documents: the volume of the work involved was monumental. When we were starting out, I had a feeling that it would take years but the work has been successfully completed. We have been able to establish the regulatory framework for the Common Economic Space before the end of 2010.

I would like to express my gratitude to Mr Lukashenko and Mr Nazarbayev for cooperation, for the resolute instructions they issued to their teams, governments and relevant expert services, and for making these efforts truly coordinated and constructive. In general I am very satisfied with the way we worked.
