OREANDA-NEWS. December 27, 2010. Last week, KAMAZ was visited by the delegation of the Iranian company – Rakhsh Khodro Diesel Co. The guests paid special attention to the issues of development of vehicles running on compressed natural gas (methane).

The delegation of Rakhsh Khodro Diesel Co headed by Mir Sabeti, Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, arrived in Naberezhnye Chelny to see a model line of gas-engine driven trucks and buses produced by OJSC KAMAZ, and also organization of assembly and service of compressed gas vehicles.

To date, Iran is one of the world’s leaders producing the largest number of vehicles running on compressed natural gas. The Iranians visited OOO RariTEK, one of the main activities of which is equipping of transport, special-purpose vehicles and buses on KAMAZ chassis with gas engines and service of such vehicles, in order to see the Russian specialists’ latest developments in this area.

The guests studied the basic principles of production, operation and maintenance of KAMAZ gas-engine driven vehicles. The Iranian specialists saw a presentation of a model line of KAMAZ vehicles and NEFAZ buses with engines running on natural gas, and learned about tendencies of development of this machinery in Naberezhnye Chelny and in the Russian market on the whole.

It should be recalled that, since the spring of 2007, trucks have been assembled under the license of OJSC KAMAZ at an assembly enterprise established by KAMAZ jointly with Rakhsh Khodro Diesel Co in Iran.
