OREANDA-NEWS. January 24, 2011. Belarus has awarded 25 companies the right to import and process fish in 2011, whereas in 2010, there were 38 importers.

The list includes companies Arvitdud, Santa-Bremor, Santa Impex Brest, Belryba, Minskrybprom, Gomel Rybocomplex, Mogilev Rybocomplex, Vitalyur, Belvneshrybtorg, Grodnoryba, LLC Evrotorg, Vkus ryby plus, OJSC Belbakaleya, OJSC Rybny ryad, etc.

Belarus earlier excluded sea fish from the list of products that may be imported exclusively by the state by presidential ordinance #194 dated April 21, 2010.

Imports of fresh-water fish and seafoods will remain on the list.

President Alexander Lukashenko on August 1, 2007 signed ordinance #361 to abolish import quotas on fish and seafood and make the state the only importer of this produce. The president will approve the list of companies authorized to import and sell fish and seafood in Belarus “as economic entities implementing the sole right of the state to import fish and seafood.”
