OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2011. One of the key issues of government meeting on February 17 was the discussion about electricity tariffs and the situation of wholesale and retail market of petroleum products.

On February 17, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Federation.
One of the key issues of the meeting was the excessive growth of electricity tariffs in some regions of the country and the situation at the wholesale and retail market of petroleum products.

Now, the second question relating to tariffs and electricity prices. I am very worried about what is happening at this market. I want to remind you: we determined that the increase of electricity prices for consumers should not exceed 15 percents. 

However, according to the information that comes from the regions, the growth is much higher: for example, in Tver region - 32.9 percent, in the Kursk region - 33.2 percent. In Saratov region – 32 percent, in Omsk region - 30 percent. In Astrakhan’  region - 46, 5 percent. In the Penza region - 37 percent.

Meanwhile, there are some regions that behave differently, do not go beyond the parameters of at least 20 percent. For example,  Vologda, Karelia - 15 percent., Kostroma - 15,4 percent.,
Tula - 16,7 percent., Nizhny Novgorod - 16,5 percent., Tambov – 17 percent,  Voronezh – 19 percent , Samara – 18 percent, Kabardino-Balkaria – 16 percent  , Republic of North Ossetia – 15 percent , Perm region - 15.9 percent, Republic of Altai and the Altai Territory - 15,4 percent, Tomsk Oblast - 17,5 percent.
