OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2011. Belarus lifts limitations on import of high-priced alcoholic beverages and alcohol in containers over 2 liters, in accordance with presidential decree #2, the press service of the president said.

“The decree aims at liberalizing import and trade in alcoholic beverages and expanding the list of alcoholic beverages that are not subject to the exclusive right of the state to import alcohol,” the press service of the president said.

It will be possible to import high-priced cognacs, grape wines, vermouths, sparkling wines, whisky, rum and gin without limitations.

“The list includes Hennessey, Bisquit, Martel, Courvoisier brands, V.S., V.S.O.P., V.V.S.O.P., X.O. varieties, and wine priced over USD 10 per 0.75 liter,” the press service said.

The government will annually draw up the list of beverages subject to the exclusive right of the state.
