OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2011. Tata Power, India’s largest integrated private power utility, celebrated National Technology Day on May 11, 2011, at their Haldia plant. ‘Baivabhi’— Tata Power Ladies Club — has been actively involved in organising interactive events to generate enthusiasm and increase employee participation for the National Technology Day.

As part of the celebrations, Tata Power organised an energy conservation programme in a local school — Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Haldia. This programme on energy conservation was further extended to the Tata Power employees. The company employees also participated in a quiz competition on energy conservation and got an opportunity to share innovative and exciting insights and views on the subject. The celebrations finally concluded with a detailed and informative presentation by the maintenance department on the latest technology deployed in the Haldia plant.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vijayant Ranjan, Station Manager, Haldia Power Plant, Tata Power, said, "The National Technology Day is an occasion to recollect the achievements of Haldia Division in the technology area pertaining to power sector and also to acknowledge the contribution of our suppliers and partners.

"We believe that it’s important to share the significance of green power and energy conservation with our future generation. Participation of Baivabhi, ladies club members of Haldia, in all our community relations and sustainability initiatives is appreciable.“
