OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2011. Due to the large increase of the fuel prices in the global market, Tallink will add a 2-Euro fuel surcharge for passenger tickets. The surcharge will step in force for bookings made on 1st of June 2011 and later.

According to the Sales and Marketing Director of AS Tallink Grupp, Mr. Peter Roose is the time period for fuel surcharge dependant on the fuel price trends on the global market „As much as we dislike adding the fuel surcharge, it is necessary due to the fuel prices today. Our aim is to offer our passengers travelling opportunities for lower prices, therefore also the surcharge added was as low as possible, “said Roose.

Fuel surcharge for one passenger on Tallinn-Helsinki, Tallinn-Stockholm, Riga-Stockholm, Turku-Stockholm and Helsinki-Stockholm lines will be 2 Euros for one-way and cruise ticket equally. On Helsinki-Rostock line the surcharge for one passenger will be 8 Euros for one-way and 16 Euros for both-ways ticket, as the distance is much larger and therefore also the fuel consumption of these ships much higher.
