OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2011. Starting from the 1st of July, users of the Interactive GALA and Digital GALA digital television services provided by TEO LT, AB, the largest provider of integrated telecommunication, IT and TV services in Lithuania, will again have the opportunity to watch  RTR Planeta, one of the most popular Russian channels.

The broadcasting of this channel for TEO customers was temporarily suspended in late March.

RTR Planeta gained popularity due to its constantly updated news reports, popular Russian movies, movies as well as TV series made in other countries, live talk shows, sports events, music shows and programs for children's audiences.

At present, as many as 37 Russian channels, including those broadcasted in the Russian language, and in total, more than 80 entertainment, cognitive, sports, news, and high-definition television (HDTV) channels are available to the users of the Interactive GALA digital television (IPTV) service, which is provided in most cities of Lithuania.

The interactive technology-based services provide customers with access to the Virtual Video-On-Demand services, and allow, without using any extra equipment, to record their favourite TV programs and watch them at desired times, browse the social networking website Facebook, view photo albums on the website Flickr, read news on popular news portals, play games, listen to radio or read their horoscopes.

At present, in total 17 Russian channels, including those broadcasted in the Russian language, are available to the users of the Digital GALA TV service, which is provided in nearly the whole of Lithuania. Among them - the most popular Russian channels, such as RTR Planeta, REN TV Baltija, RTVi. Many other channels can be watched in English or Russian, including Eurosport, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, Travel Channel and many others.

More than 67 thousand of the country's residents have already become users of the Digital GALA TV service, broadcasted via digital terrestrial (DVB-T) networks throughout Lithuania. They can watch up to 40 channels in Lithuanian, English, Russian and other languages.
