OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2011. Kerry Logistics has opened a 215,000 sq ft logistics centre at Hefei, which is about 100 miles west of Shanghai, to focus on the growing automotive industry sector in Anhui province in China.

The centre offers various specialist logistics services, particularly for the increasing number of automobile manufacturers in the Hefei region. Services include VMI, sub-assembly and kitting, JIT delivery, milk run transport and a wide range of value-added services, such as functional testing, CKD or SKD operations.

Edwardo Erni, managing director Mainland China, said: "Demand has been growing from our automotive customers in Hefei for us to deliver specialist automotive logistics services and we have now opened the Kerry Hefei Logistics Centre to enhance our offering to the car manufacturing community in Anhui,"

The facility centre consists of five warehouses. Four of which are already in use and the fifth, a53,000 sq ft warehouse, will be operational by the end of 2011. The site is 3.5 km from Hefei Luogang International Airport and adjacent to express highways.
