OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2011. Ruselprom has concluded the first contract on production and delivery of electric motors for new railcars of Moscow subway that are produced by JSC Metrovagonmash (Mytischi city, Moscow region).

Under the contract Ruselprom will supply 32 electric motors for the whole subway train that consists of eight 81-760/761 railcars by end of 2011. It is planned that Ruselprom will supply 32 motors and 8 line filters a month to Metrovagonmash starting from 2012. The contract is expected to be signed in the end of this year. Tender victory on modernization of Moscow subway equipment allowed NIPTIEM that belongs to the Ruselprom Concern to become one of three approved suppliers of traction electric motors for JSC Metrovagonmash.

Principally new electric motors that were developed by Ruselprom’s R&D base have many serious advantages including 15% weight reduction, absence of a fan that consumes much electricity and availability of radial cooling system. Absence of a fan that causes frequent failures of such motors will considerably increase the period of trouble-free operation.

Development types of motors that were supplied to Metrovagonmash in the beginning of this year have successfully passed a number of tests showing fine performance on energy-efficiency, noise and other characteristics.

The Ruselprom Concern has also introduced to partners its another technological development. This is a new smoothing reactor of line filters that is designed for smoothing of voltage variations. New equipment is under testing now; the tests are approved by the customer and subway equipment service.

"Initiatives of federal and Moscow authorities aimed at solution of pressing transport issues and expanding territories of Moscow set new tasks for Russian machinery companies. The Ruselprom Concern is ready to meet the challenge by newest technological developments that are performed in accordance with world quality requirements and strategy of energy efficiency," Ruselprom First Deputy General Director Anatoly Glovatsky pointed out.
