OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2011. Latvian national airline airBaltic carried 326,152 passengers in September 2011 (from Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn), representing 2% increase comparing with the same month in 2010, when airBaltic transported 318,807 passengers. In September this year, the number of passengers at the base of airBaltic in North Hub Riga has increased by 5% compared to the same period last year.

During the nine months of 2011, airBaltic transported a total of 2,661,083 passengers, or 6% more than during the same period in 2010, when the total number of passengers was 2,519,324.

In September, airBaltic operated 4,992 flights, which represents 6% decrease as in September 2010, when airBaltic operated 5,296 flights. Between January and the end of September, the airline provided 43,924 flights in all.

The airline’s load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, in September 2011 was at a level of 79% - or 6% points higher than in September 2010. During the first nine months of 2011 the airline’s load factor was at a level of 74%, or 5% points higher than in the same period last year.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 89.9% in September 2011. This means that almost 90 of every 100 airBaltic flights in September departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
