OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2011. A new agreement is entered between TITAN-2 Holding and B.P. Konstantinov Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute (Gatchina) in which a new scientific and research PIK reactor complex is being constructed.

The agreement provides for the package of building and assembly, electric installation and start-up works in the total amount of 740 mln roubles to be performed by the Holding organizations prior to the end of 2011. Two previous contracts for the total amount of 742 mln roubles were made in spring 2011.

Today the design, assembly, electrical installation, and start-up works are being carried out by some of Holding’s business entities: Installation and Construction Directorate No. 90, JSC, Sosnovoborelektromontazh, TITANEBERGONALADKA, OJSC, OJSC, SPII VNIPIET, JSC.

In particular, a new 110 kV-substation PS-58-A is being constructed; the start-up works related to process equipment and pipelines of several systems simultaneously, other works within the frameworks of the second and third start-up complexes are being carried out in the reactor building. Also, as of today, the works related to assembly of the central experimental channel of PIK reactor equipment have been completed.

It is worth reminding that construction of PIK reactor started in 1978. In 2008, the general contract for completion of reactor construction was transferred to TITAN-2 Holding, and by the end of 2009, the holding’s specialists had completed all the works related to the first start-up complex in time and passed the facility on to the institute personnel for its further on preparation for physical start. Currently, the further on reconstruction works are being carried out at the facility.
