OREANDA-NEWS.  February 2, 2012. Jukka Laaksonen who until present held the post of the Director General of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK, nuclear regulator in Finland) will take the position of Vice President in Rusatom Overseas (a ROSATOM’s company which has been established for promotion of Russian nuclear technologies in the global market).

In this capacity he will be in charge of technical aspects of projects and compliance with international and national safety requirements.

I expect that my new position will give me a good opportunity to use my past experience to contribute to our common task, i.e. safe uses of atomic energy across the world, J. Laaksonen noted.

“I’m very glad that such highly competent, worldwide acknowledged high-profiled professional in nuclear power safety will work in the Russian nuclear industry. This speaks of how much significance we do attach to effectiveness and safety of our projects,” Kirill Komarov, Deputy Director General for Development and International Business at ROSATOM, said.
