OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2012. In late 2012 Domodedovo Airport is to install 10 fixed stations in settlements of Ramenskiy, Leninskiy and Domodedovskiy District to measure the noise level, and it is also going to commission a mobile laboratory. The airport is introducing a comprehensive system for noise as part of reconstruction of the first flight zone, funded by the federal target program "Development of Transport System in Russia (2010 - 2015)."

The fixed stations will operate in automatic mode, recording noise events exceeding the threshold in the area of ??their location. Statistical information obtained with their help will make it possible to optimize the modes and trajectory of aircraft movement to reduce noise in adjacent territories, and prepare proposals to limit flights at night for the more “noisy” aircraft types.

The mobile laboratory based on GAZ-2705 will be equipped not only with special equipment to measure noise exposure at any point in the airport terminal area, but also with the equipment determining concentration of harmful substances in the atmosphere. Additionally, the mobile laboratory will be equipped with a gas analyzer to measure the total hydrocarbons in the air, as well as a dust meter.

Introduction of the noise monitoring system is part of the airport complex measures aimed at improving the environmental situation. This year Domodedovo is going to complete construction of two specific sites for the treatment of aircrafts with deicing fluid equipped with the pollutant collection systems preventing harmful substances from entering the environment. With its own chemical-analytical laboratory the airport is carrying out continuous ecomonitoring of water.

With the implementation of the whole complex of environmental activities in the territory of Domodedovo Airport and adjacent areas, it maintains an environment that meets the ecological and sanitary-epidemiological regulations.
