OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2012. Fujitsu, the market leader in document imaging scanners, today announced that it is bundling Kofax® VRS® 5.0 Professional, ScandALL PRO V2.0 Premium software, and Scanner Central Admin functionality with its high performance departmental and production scanning solutions, including the Fujitsu fi-6670, fi-6770, fi-6670A, fi-6770A, fi-5530C2, fi-5950, and fi-6800.

By combining the industry’s leading scanning technology and software into one package, Fujitsu customers will gain even more value from their purchase. The new software upgrades and improved image processing capabilities provide users with the latest in document imaging functionality, allowing them to boost automation, productivity and efficiency.

“Fujitsu has built its reputation and business on serving customers that demand rich features, performance and quality,” said Scott Francis, vice president of marketing, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. “Continuing this tradition, we’ve leveraged the industry’s leading scanning technology and software and combined it into one accessible bundle in order to meet customer needs and enhance the user experience.”

Details on the new software and application features include:

Kofax® VRS® 5.0 Professional: The new version of Kofax VRS Professional reduces the time involved in manual document preparation and enhances the quality of scanned images, dramatically improving both manual scanning productivity and the efficiency of document capture processes. Kofax VRS Professional greatly improves the accuracy of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) document data extraction and provides customers with an easy to use interface and enhanced scanning functionality including automatic color detection, image orientation, paper deskew, paper size detection, edge cleanup, hole fill, advanced clarity, and blank page detection/removal.

ScandALL PRO V2.0 Premium: Improving upon earlier versions, ScandALL PRO V2.0 Premium speeds up workflow with batch editing and resume batch functionality. Profiles can now be exported and imported to reduce configuration time and increase consistency across desktop deployments. The automatic job separation function uses divider sheets with printed barcodes and patch codes to sort image data from multiple page feeds into user-defined units. This function has been enhanced to recognize 2D barcodes (matrix codes) and advanced logging controls exportable to XML, CSV, and Unicode. Output image files include new compressions like JPEG7 and JBIG for smaller document sizes.
Scanner Central Admin: The new centralized administration functionality dramatically reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO) and work that goes into setting up, operating and maintaining multiple Fujitsu scanners in an organization. This new feature allows users to manage up to 1,000 scanners, monitor scanner running status, update scanner drivers, identify serial numbers, check consumable status, and more, all over a network, from one location.
