OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2012. The companies registered in Belarus' six free economic zones increased sales proceeds 150% on the year in January-June 2012 to 32.917 trillion Belarusian rubles (USD 3.942 billion), an official with the National Statistics Committee told reporters Thursday. FEZ resident companies exported goods worth a total of USD 2.093 million, up 16.9% on the year in the period, mainly to Russia, which accounted for 70.9% of all exports with USD 1.483 billion. Exports included tyres, plastic containers, insulated wires and cables, furniture, synthetic fibers, meat products, hosiery goods.

Imports of the companies registered in free economic zones from outside the CIS amounted to USD 1.911 million, up 15.5% on the year. The key imports were plastics, ferrous metal products, natural rubber, pork, calcium phosphate, artificial rubber.

Belarusian free economic zones had 519 registered companies as of July 1, 2012, including 449 running businesses.

FEA Brest has 91 companies, Minsk had 143, Gomel-Raton had 79, Grodnoinvest had 92, Vitebsk had 60 and Mogilev had 54. (Br8,410 - USD 1)
