OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2012. The total consolidated revenue of TEO Group, the largest provider of integrated telecommunication, IT and TV services in Lithuania, during the three quarters of 2012 amounted to LTL 570.5 million, an increase by 3 per cent over the total revenue of LTL 554.3 million during the same period a year ago. The Company's EBITDA margin for the first nine months of 2012 increased up to 41.4 per cent, and net profit – up to LTL 123.6 million.

Last year, TEO EBITDA margin for the first nine months was 41.1 per cent, and net profit amounted to LTL 117.3 million.

"The continuously improved digital TV and Internet services enabled to increase the number of customers using them. So, despite the continued shrinking of the Lithuanian telecommunications market this year, TEO increased its revenue, while successful cost control allowed to improve profitability", – Arunas Shikshta, General Manager of TEO, said when commenting on the activity results.

With the approach of the analogue terrestrial TV shutdown in Lithuania, over the last 12 months the number of the Company's television service users increased by one-tenth and at the end of September amounted to nearly 162 thousand. The number of broadband Internet access users increased up to 380.8 thousand, and the total number of main telephone lines in service at the end of September amounted to 615.8 thousand.

This year, TEO continued active investment in its next-generation fiber-optic access and core networks – approximately LTL 83 million have already been allocated for that. At the end of September 2012, TEO fiber-optic (FTTH) Internet access services were available for use to 747 thousand households or 62 per cent of the country’s residents.

During the nine months of 2012 the Company allocated a total of LTL 100 million for investments.

The Company's share of revenue from Internet services from total amount of revenue for the nine months of 2012 amounted to 22.4 per cent, data communication services and network capacity sales – 11.7 per cent, IT services – 8.2 per cent, television services – 7.3 per cent. Share of revenue from voice telephony services and international transit from total amount of revenue for January-September 2012 amounted to 47.1 per cent, and from other services – 3.3 per cent from total amount of revenue for the nine months of 2012.

According to the data of the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) of the Republic of Lithuania, in the second quarter of 2012 TEO market share of the Internet access services market in terms of revenue amounted to 42.1 per cent, while in terms of revenue from digital television services – 43.7 per cent. TEO market share in terms of revenue from fixed telephony services was 93.5 per cent.
