OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2012. A new automated covered coal warehouse has been commissioned at Kemerovo Koks plant (OAO Koks). The new warehouse is able to secure 10 days of uninterrupted coke production at the plant. Storage capacity of the warehouse is 100 thousand tonnes of coal, maximum annual throughput capability is around 1.5 million tonnes. The new covered coal warehouse is equipped with automated loading and unloading complex. Design capacity of the conveyor at the new warehouse is 900 tonnes per hour. All technical operations are managed from the sole operating desk through electronic management system. Three shifts will provide twenty-four-hour operation of the warehouse.

Due to the new warehouse commissioned, an increase in efficiency of rail cars utilization and high quality of coal blend is expected to be achieved. In addition, due to a significant reduction of coal dust emissions, this facility would bring very positive environmental effect.

20 companies were contracted to participate in the warehouse construction. Investments into the project totaled 550 million RUR.

The commissioned warehouse allows the plant to shut down the temporary uncovered coal storage facility and use this space for construction of other strategically important facilities in future.
