OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2012. The Trubodetal Plant (Trubodetal, , a part of the United Metallurgical Company, OMK) has produced the first batch of unique fittings for the Zapolyarye – Purpe line, the most northern main oil pipeline in .

A new product type was designed for the construction of the Zapolyarye – Purpe pipeline on the territory of the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district. The new product will be used for both under- and aboveground pipelining. The uniqueness of the new pipeline’s fittings is determined by thermal polyurethane foam insulation and the special protection cover that enable the quality of fittings and their reliability under permafrost conditions to be maintained.

The pipeline’s fittings in thermal polyurethane foam insulation designed for the Zapolyarye – Purpe line were produced in conformity with specifications developed by Trubodetal and examined by the Scientific and Research Institute for Oil and Oil Products Transportation. Special equipment was bought to execute orders for producing bends in thermal polyurethane foam insulation. Some improvements and updates were also introduced to the production technology to meet all requirements.

Dmitry Manannikov, production engineer specializing in protection covers, the engineering support department at Trubodetal, said, “It took us 1.5 months to execute the order for bends in thermal insulation for the Zapolyarye – Purpe pipeline. The products meet all of the requirements of Transneft. Following the results of the work done, we can certainly say that our enterprise is ready to manufacture products in thermal insulation meeting the customer’s highest standards.”
