OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2012. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 4.7% on the year in January-October 2012 to 2.2 million tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told reporters.

Steel output increased 3.6% on the year to 2.425 million tonnes. Steel wire output rose 2.8% on the year to 362,200 tonnes in the period.

Belarusian companies produced 76,200 tonnes of metal cord in the period, down 6.2% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 3.8% on the year to 33.384 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-October 2012 (USD 3.905 billion).

Inventories of steel products totalled Br1.569 trillion (USD 183.509 million) as of November 1, 2012, 65.9% of the average monthly output. (Br8,550 - USD 1)
