OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2012. A branch of JSC “MOESK” – the Northern Electric Grids is nearing to the European standard of time of response to and elimination of emergency and abnormal situations consequences at electric grid facilities.

For ten months of 2012, NEG fixed about 40 cases of technical breaks monthly. Their elimination took on average 1.7 hour. For ten months of 2011, the figure was on average 1.9 hour.

The result, which was achieved in 2012, has several components. Emergency reserve in the branch was 100 percent-formed, all EGD (electric grid districts) are provided with reserve sources of electricity supply system. Increased mobility brigades are fully equipped with communication facilities, they passed additional training, participated in planned and unplanned emergency trainings, the conditions of which were the closest to reality. Vehicles are equipped with automatic control and monitoring devices, which allow tracing visually location and movement of heavy machinery in electronic maps.

During ten months of 2012, another 26 people were employed in the distribution grids of the northern branch. They performed the tasks related with implementation of dispatch control and routine switching at strategic feeding centers. The number of personnel directly engaged in maintenance and repair of the grid distribution infrastructure elements is planned to be increased in 2013 as well.

Six additional brigades of distribution grids and one brigade for operation and repairs of overhead lines were formed. These units obtained 19 units of special equipment: all-wheel drive brigade vehicles and automatic hydraulic lifts, modern drilling machinery, and other mechanisms to work at low temperatures.

Technicians of the Northern Electric Grids strictly observed the priority areas of work: clearing of routes of overhead power lines, repair of high and transformer substations, as well as circuit breakers of different voltage levels.

Volumes of funding intended for key elements of the distribution grid complex substantially increased within the framework of the repairs fund.
