World Largest Container Vessel ELLY MAERSK Call Guangzhou Port
OREANDA-NEWS. On March 9th 2013, Guangzhou Port Nansha Terminal welcomed the world largest container ship ELLY MAERSK.
The successful accommodation of ELLY MAERSK indicates that Nansha Terminal is capable for the world largest container vessels in both terminal facilities and approaching channel.
ELLY MAERSK is Maersk’s environment friendly PS container vessel and is one of world largest container ships with L.O.A. 397.71m, capacity 15550TEU, draft 16m, on deck 8HC across 22 rows, un deck 10HC.
Guangzhou Port Nansha Terminal has 10 deepwater container berths with channel depth -17m. With advanced geographical location, terminal facilities, convenient distribution and high productivities, Nansha Terminal has attracted the top 20 shipping lines working in. Especially in 2011, Maersk Line took Nansha as one of the gateways in South China, brought along other shipping lines strengthened their business at Nansha as well. Nansha Terminal now has been one of the best gateways for South China and Pan-PRD commodities to the world.
