OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines, Russia’s second largest carrier, has launched ticket sales in Germany and Ukraine through Sirena-Travel Global Distribution System (GDS).

Sirena-Travel, which provides software solutions for air tickets distribution is a long-time partner of Transaero Airlines. Sirena-Travel has been providing ticket booking solutions to the airline in the neutral session of Transport Clearing House, the major settlement system between airlines and travel agents in Russia.

Sirena-Travel GDS got IATA certification for BSP Germany in 2011 and for BSP Ukraine earlier this year.

Transaero’s decision to sell tickets in Ukraine and Germany via Sirena-Travel GDS was made to meet constantly growing demand for airline’s services in the two countries. The airline currently operates nine routes between Russia and Ukraine (up to 49 flights per week) and on two routes between Russia and Germany (up to 13 flights per week).

Starting from this autumn Transaero’s passengers will be able to book tickets for the German national railways Deutsche Bahn combined with air tickets via Sirena-Travel GDS. The airline’s travel fare for a combined journey will include train fare contributing to lower passengers spending.

Transaero Airlines is one of the largest users of Sirena-Travel GDS in Russia & CIS, as well as of the inventory system Sirena-2000 (centre of ticket booking). The Sirena-Travel GDS is connected with 18,000 terminals in 7,000 points of sales in Russia, CIS and abroad.
