OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2013. Targeting enlargement of scientific-technical cooperation with member-states of the European Union, Ukraine’s delegation led by First Deputy head of the State Agency for Science, Innovations and Informatization Borys Grynyov visited Bucharest, Romania, to participate in the Third sitting of Ukrainian-Romanian joint committee for scientific- technical cooperation. During the event the parties signed the Program on cooperation in science and technologies between the State Agency for Science, Innovations and Informatization of Ukraine and Ministry of National Education of Romania which will become the ground for the start of cooperation of scientists of the two states.

In the frames of the meeting, the State Agency for Science, Innovations and Informatization of Ukraine and Ministry of National Education of Romania presented information concerning structure organization and modern state of science of both countries. The sides acknowledged similarity of organization structures of departments and directions of their activity, in particular cooperation with such international organizations as JINR, EUREKA and CERN.

Moreover, Romanian party informed about large-scale project "Extreme Light Infrastructure", which is planned to realize in Bucharest in the frames of European strategic forum in the area of infrastructure research. In this connection, the Ukrainian party suggested to enlarge priority directions of further cooperation agreed by the two sides.

To sum up, the sides decided to hold the competition of joint Ukrainian-Romanian projects to be realized in 2014- 2015 which is to be announced in late August of the current year.

Apart from that, there was emphasized on applicability of joint participation of the countries in the projects of a new EU program “Horizon 2020”.
