OREANDA-NEWS. LUKOIL has concluded the bidding process to select the contractor to construct onshore facilities for the intake, storage, metering and further transportation of commercial oil from the Northern Caspian fields developed by the company. The designed capacity of the facilities will be up to 8 million tons per year.

ZAO NefteGazMontazh, a company with vast experience in the construction of oil and gas facilities, had submitted the winning bid. OOO VolgogradNIPImorneft designed the onshore facilities.

The onshore facilities will be constructed in Kalmykia in the immediate vicinity of the Komsomolskaya oil-pumping station owned by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium approximately 60 kilometers away from the Caspian coast.

They will be connected to the Komsomolskaya oil-pumping station by means of two oil pipelines with a 530-milimeter diameter.

The facilities will include four tanks with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters each, equipped with an automated fire-fighting system, an oil-metering unit, three oil-heating units, an automated gas distributing plant, treatment facilities, a fire station, a satellite station, a rotation camp and a number of other production facilities to ensure safe operations.

Construction of the onshore oil-intake facilities from the Northern Caspian fields is to be completed by mid-2015.
