OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2013. 2,9 million tons, i.e. more by 6,2 pct. comparing with cargo handling turnover in September of 2013, were handled in Klaipeda Seaport in October of 2013.

The cargo handling turnover in Klaipeda Port in October of 2013 was 2,9 mln. tn, i.e. more by  6,2 pct. comparing with the cargo handling turnover in reached in the previous month of the current year, but less by 9,7 pct. or by 315,3 thou. tn comparing with the cargo handling turnover in October of 2012 when the highest cargo handling turnover per month was reached – 3 244 860,00 tn.

0,7 mln. tn, i.e. less by -23,0 pct. or by -208,5 thou. tn of cargo were handled at Butinges terminal.

The total throughput of Klaipeda Port and Butinges terminal in October of 2013 totalled 3,6 mln. tn, i.e. less by -12,6 pct. or by -523,9 thou. tn if to compare with the corresponding period of 2012.

- Ore (bulk) (164,1 thou. tn were handled, the change was +244,7 pct. or +116,5 thou. tn yoy);

- containerised cargoes (426,9 thou. tn were handled,  the change was  +10,6 pct.  or +41 thou. tn yoy);

- natural and chemical fertilizers (bulk) ( 537,4 thou. tn were handled, the change was +0,2 pct. or +1,1 thou. tn yoy);

-agriculture products (431,6 thou. tn were handled, the change was -21,5 pct. or -117,9 thou. tn yoy) were the categories of cargo that made the greatest impact on cargo handling turnover in October of the current year.
