OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus was there to witness a 1.9% inflation growth in October 2013, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a press-release.

In January-September consumer prices have grown 12%: September 1.7%, August - 0.1%, July - 1%, June - 0.3%, May - 0.7%, April - 0.5%, March - 1.1%, February - 1.2%, January - 3%, Belstat informed.

Food prices grew 1.9% in October (up 9.6% in Jan-Oct).

The price of the following food products went down in October: vegetable oil - down 1% (down 2.9% in Jan-Oct).

The price of the following food products went up in October: vegetables - up 19.6% (+1.1% in Jan-Oct 2013), pasta - up 4.3% (+19.5%), eggs - up 2.2% (+17.1%), flour - up 10.6% (+34.4%), bread and bakery goods - up 4% (+12.7%), potatoes - up 3.2% (+62.6%), fruits - up 3% (+1%), confectionery goods - up 1.8% (+7.3%).

Non-food prices grew 0.7% on the month in October 2013 (up 6.2% from the level of December 2013).

Prices of bicycles and motorbikes grew 0.4% on the month in October (up 8.6% the level of December 2013), footwear - up 0.5% (up 3.2%), medications - up 1% (up 9.6%), clothing - up 0.7% (up 2.9%), construction materials - up 0.8% (up 6.5%), consumer electronics- up 0.6% (up 3.2%), furniture - 1% (up 3.6%), carpets - up 1% (up 4%), perfumes and cosmetics - up 0.9% (up 5.7%), fabrics - up 1% (up 4.4%).

Utility tariffs grew 3.2% on the month in October 2013 (27.9% in Jan-Oct).

Tariffs on household services grew 5.3% on the month in October 2013 (up 31.4% in Jan-Oct): electricity - up 11.8% (+97.6%), gas - up 3.1% (+3.1%), water supply - up 1.7% (+13.1%).

Passenger tariffs grew 10.9% on the month (up 30.3% in Jan-Oct), medical services - up 0.5% (up 21.4%).

Belarus' government expects inflation growth to stay under 12% in 2013. Belarus' consumer prices grew 21.8% in 2012, while the government's forecast stood at 19-22%.
