OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2013. Incheon International Airport Corporation and airport- located businesses with high energy consumption have signed a voluntarily agreement to save the energy and reduce the greenhouse gas.

This agreement is aimed to put in practice the voluntarily energy saving action through the co-joint efforts and by raising the awareness of severity in climate change and the national energy demand and supply crisis. It is also aimed to make Incheon Airport low-carbon ecofriendly airport by reducing the greenhouse gas as well as taking full social responsibilities through participation in policies regarding the global warming and putting efforts to overcome the national energy crisis.

Since last August, Corporation has enforced field guidance and orientations for energy management among the airport-located companies with energy consumption of 40% and gradually enlarged the target to the surrounding areas. Moreover, it has established the co-joint cooperation to respond on climate changes through enforcing voluntarily agreement oriented on the main companies with the high level of energy consumption. About 11 companies have signed this agreement and it is expected that these companies will voluntarily save about 1% of energy per year.
