OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2013. The first tranche of the Russian loan will go to ensuring social stability within the country.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov declared on air of the Shuster Live program on the INTER channel.

“The placement is carried out pursuant to the standard international rules, there are no encumbrances in it. It means we have a right to manage the funds as it is envisaged by our legislation, the law on budget. You are aware that we have received postponement in payments for gas, so the first tranche – 3 billion will be directed, first of all, to realization of what we could have financed all our expenses,” Mykola Azarov said.

At this, the Premier emphasized that in connection with the difficult financial-economic situation Ukraine would have to agree either to a proposition of Russia or the IMF.

“The choice was the only one: to agree to a proposition of Russia or the IMF. So, we would never afforded bankruptcy of Ukraine, never afforded default but we had to agree with the conditions of the International Monetary Fund with all the ensuing consequences,” Mykola Azarov said.
