OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2014. This was spoken about at a meeting of Speaker of Parliament of Moldova Igor Corman, Mayor of Balti Vasile Panciuc, head of the territorial unit of the State Office Anatol Harcenco, leaders of resident companies of FEZ of Balti and workers of company RED–Nord.

The participants of the meeting were discussing implementation of new modernization and regional development projects, attraction of investment to the northern region of Moldova, advantages of Moldova's integration with Europe and access to European funds. The Speaker promised them to second motions by the FEZ residents on an improvement of Moldova’s investment climate and to encourage foreign investors to open businesses in our country.

According to him, the FEZ of Balti is a clear proof that Moldova has a future. Although the FEZ has been recently opened, the kernel of the project has given people such advantages as a favourable working environment and attractive salaries. The Speaker hopes that the lead of the FEZ of Balti will be followed by other regions of Moldova and has noted that the proposals made by the participants of the meeting will be considered by Moldova's authorities to inspire other regions of Moldova.

The directors of resident companies of the FEZ of Balti asked the Speaker for support in amending the legislation for a favourable investment climate to be created in Moldova and for skilled labour force, including the disabled, to find jobs. Chief administrator of the FEZ Marin Cioban noted that on the territory of the FEZ there are 31 residents, whose employees are paid about MDL 5,780 each upon average and whose taxes allotted to the budget amount to MDL 71 million.

Igor Corman and workers of RED–Nord were discussing current problems facing the energy sector. The workers requested the Speaker to render assistance at developing the enterprise and to support the amendment of the laws regulating the energy sector.
