OREANDA-NEWS. Rallis India, a Tata enterprise and one of India's leading crop care companies with the largest farmers' network, joined hands with Star Bazaar, also a Tata enterprise, and announced the launch of farm-fresh 'Rallis - Star Bazaar Grapes'. These packaged export-quality grapes have been launched with an objective to offer healthy and safe produce to consumers and aresourced through Rallis India's 'Samrudh Krishi' initiative. 'Rallis - Star Bazaar Grapes' are retailed by Star Bazaar at all their outlets in Mumbai and Pune, and are priced at Rs115 for 1 kg and Rs65 for 500 gm. These branded and packaged grapes are certified by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), a government body established to fix standards and specifications for products that are meant for exports.

Speaking on the launch of 'Rallis - Star Bazaar Grapes', V Shankar, managing director and CEO, Rallis India, said, “We are delighted to bring farm-fresh grapes to the consumers through Star Bazaar outlets in Mumbai and Pune. Consumers today have become very health conscious and prefer quality products which are safe and healthy for consumption. The grapes sourced from farmers are a part of our Rallis 'Samrudh Krishi' initiative and through our association with Star Bazaar, we are able to take the farm-fresh grapes to the consumers. These farm-fresh grapes are certified by APEDA making them an export-quality product and are available at reasonable prices in the domestic market. We plan to launch the product in other markets across India during our second phase.”

'Samrudh Krishi' by Rallis India is a novel initiative to bring latest agronomy practices to Indian farmers. The company which has successfully developed a long term association with the farmers has constantly endeavoured to provide them a host of agri-services along with valuable inputs and advice on how to optimise the utilisation of resources, soil care, plant nutrient and crop protection information etc. to achieve a healthy and quality produce. This helps farmers grow the best-quality products that meet international standards in terms of nutrition values, safety, quality etc. Taking this a step further, the company is now taking the farmers' farm-fresh grapes to the customers by making the packaged grapes available to the consumers through Star Bazaar outlets. This initiative benefits both farmers and consumers, where farmers produce quality products and get assured returns of their produce at the right price and by eliminating the middle men, consumers receive export-quality products at affordable prices. This initiative will thereby exhibit Rallis's deep understanding of Indian agriculture with a strong product portfolio of comprehensive crop care solutions.

Commenting on this association, Jamshed Daboo, CEO, Trent Hypermarket, said, "At Star Bazaar, it is our constant endeavour to provide our customers with an unmatched array of high-quality products at affordable prices. We are very pleased to associate with Rallis India's initiative 'Samrudh Krishi' and launch the farm-fresh, 'Rallis - Star Bazaar Grapes'. This collaboration will help us to widen our horizons to reach customers who are looking for fresh and the best-quality produce. We will continue to provide our discerning customers with unique products at great prices, thus offering a well-defined value proposition".
