OREANDA-NEWS. The administration of Nizhny Novgorod was shown a NEFAZ 53994-40-51 gas-powered low-floor bus.
The representatives of KAMAZ, RariTEK (the company’s authorized distributor of natural gas vehicles) and KAMAZ’s automobile service center in Nizhny Novgorod told the local authorities and mass media about advantages of the new vehicles. “In the first place, we are interested in roominess, a platform with fixtures for wheelchairs, an electronic panel and a moving text display for passengers, as well as loud speaking communication and conditioning,” noted Anatoly Gusev, Director of the Transport and Communication Department of Nizhny Novgorod’s Administration, during the presentation.
The new model was highly appreciated by Nizhny Novgorod’s residents. The NEFAZ 52994-40-51 meets requirements set by today’s carriers: 100% low floor, total seating capacity for 105-116 passengers, a Mercedes-Benz Euro 5 CNG 279 hp engine, a VOITH hydro-mechanical transmission. It should be noted that the bus on the KAMAZ chassis in its basic version is complemented by a kneeling device – a system tilting the bus body – which enables passengers to board and leave the vehicle easily and save time at bus stops.
This model meets the requirements of Nizhny Novgorod’s authorities. Besides, according to a customer’s request, NEFAZ buses can be equipped with additional options, including original painting, GPS/GLONASS, video, extra comfort seats. The saloon layout can also be changed.
One of the key advantages of the bus is that it runs on compressed natural gas instead of diesel fuel. This enables to reduce expenses and, moreover, meet environmental standards.
