OREANDA-NEWS. Compass-EOS, the company that pioneered icPhotonics™, has won the prestigious Red Herring Global Top 100 Award. Compass-EOS was selected as a winner from among hundreds of top private companies in Europe, North America, and Asia.

The award comes on the heels of Compass-EOS’ recent announcement of a new networking element—The SDN Forwarding Plane offers an open programmable platform which enables service providers to virtualize and simplify their networks. When combined with breakthrough throughput and radically lower power consumption through icPhotonics™ technology, the SDN Forwarding Plane is positioned to drive the adoption of software-defined networking (SDN).

“When you look at the rise of SDN networks, you realize that for the first time in the history of telecommunications we can drive services at software cycle times — which means we can offer services at the speed of life,” said Matt Bross, Compass-EOS Chairman and CEO.

“We are proud to be recognized as a game-changer in the industry, driving innovation with our open programmable SDN Forwarding Plane that provides an accelerated transition option for CIOs and CTOs to drive their SDN adoption to the next level while not requiring the write down of existing network assets due to our ability to seamlessly co-exist and operate in hybrid networks.”

This is the second Red Herring honor awarded to Compass-EOS. Last May, Compass-EOS won the Red Herring Top 100 America Award over hundreds of cutting-edge companies and technologies as one of the companies positioned to grow at an explosive rate.
