OREANDA-NEWS. DIXY Group divisions are marking an expansion of the range and a rise in the sales of products originating in the Crimea. Over the past year, the stores of the chain's three divisions sold more than 1.3 million bottles of Crimean wines.

Today, the stores in all the regions where DIXY is present are offering nine names of wines and ports produced in the Crimea. The share of Crimean wines in DIXY'sannual wine sales has increased by over 20%. Aside from alcoholic beverages, DIXY outlets offer Sevastopol-produced canned fish such as small sardines in tomato sauce, gobies and sprats. These products are in stable demand at neighborhood DIXY stores.

Forty names of Crimean still and sparkling wines are sold in the Moscow region's Victoria supermarkets -- 30% more than last March. The range was expanded with the names of many still and sparkling wines produced in Alushta, Massandra, Eupathoria and other places. In addition, late last year supermarkets in and around Moscow began to offer six brands of lager beer whose average daily sales are comparable to those of beer from popular German brewers. Kaliningrad-based Victorias also report a doubling of the sales of Crimean wines; in addition to still and sparkling wines, also in demand is vodka produced by the peninsula's distilleries.

Products offered by Megamart compact hypermarkets include more than 30 names of wines and brandies. Compared to February last year, the sales of these beverages have grown by 80%.

"Crimean wines were among the ten most popular goods within the category even before the territorial status of the Crimea changed. The stable rise in the sales of Crimean-produced goods last year demonstrates the customers' growing confidence in the region's producers," says Ekaterina Kumanina, Public relations and government affairs director of DIXY Group.
