OREANDA-NEWS. BNSF Railway Company (BNSF) was recently named the 2014 recipient of the President's Award for Logistics Excellence by Toyota Logistics Services. The President's Award is Toyota's highest supplier honor given only to service partners who demonstrate combined excellence in quality, customer service and on-time performance. As part of the recognition Toyota praised BNSF for its transparency and proactive communications to its customers.

"Toyota is proud of our relationship with BNSF. Last year was a very challenging one for the rail network, and we appreciate their efforts to provide service and customer support despite those challenges. We look forward to our continued collaboration to provide an ever better experience for our customers," said Missy Pearlman, Toyota Logistics Services national rail strategy and operations manager.

During 2014, BNSF handled almost 400,000 Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles throughout the United States and Canada. BNSF is a leader in the U.S. rail industry with one of the lowest damage rates, delivering 99.84 percent of Toyota vehicles damage-free through quality processes at automotive facilities, as well as BNSF train-handling procedures.

"We are honored that Toyota has recognized BNSF with its highly coveted President's Award," said Dave Fleenor, BNSF assistant vice president for automotive marketing. "We place a high priority on ensuring every vehicle reaches its destination on-time and damage-free, and the President's Award is an affirmation of how hard our employees work to provide exceptional service to our automotive customers."
