OREANDA-NEWS. Mitsubishi Corporation and Calik Holding crowned their cooperation of more than 20 years in the construction of industrial plant projects since the 1990s by signing a partnership agreement. This partnership agreement aims at enhancing the infrastructure and energy projects conducted in the rapid-growth markets such as the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. This partnership will provide a competitive edge to both companies in the MENA region and global markets.

Established in 1998, Calik Enerji targets increasing its business activities in the energy and power related infrastructure sector in fast-growing markets such as Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Calik Enerji provides Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services to energy plants. It is also involved in electricity and gas distribution and electric generation business. By leveraging this partnership, Calik Enerji is set to realize a number of new projects with Mitsubishi Corporation, providing contractor services for power plants, transmission lines, electricity distribution as well as gas and water distribution and renewable energy to ensure people's access to electricity through new business models together in the future.

The partnership was announced on June 3rd in Tokyo, at an organization participated by Ken Kobayashi, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation; Tadashi Maeda, Senior Managing Director of JBIC; Alp Atakcan, Undersecretary of the Tokyo Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, and senior executives of two companies.

Ahmet Calik, Chairman and CEO of Calik Holding, gave a speech at the event and said that despite the long-established friendship bonds between Turkey and Japan, their economical relations can be advanced, further highlighting that there is a great potential of synergy both in operational and economic terms between two countries.

Calik said that the cooperation between Turkish and Japanese companies, which has gained momentum in recent years particularly in the MENA region and global market, will bring significant joint projects, adding: "During our partnership over many years, we have always seen trustworthiness, honesty, industriousness and devotion with our Japanese friends. At the same time, their work discipline, know-how, courage, their skills in conducting consultation, their advanced technologies as well as the importance they place on completing projects in time and in quality, their honorable work principle have made a great impression on us. We have always nurtured mutual trust and respect, and our business relationship has been built on this."

Ahmet Calik ended his address with the following words: "I hope that new projects that we will carry out through this partnership will contribute to the prosperity and peace at a regional and global level. I believe that this partnership will bring a great synergy to our companies and will lead to progress in many diverse areas in the near future."
