OREANDA-NEWS. Generous SSE employees have been digging deep with donations of food, money and vouchers for the charity Cumbernauld Against Poverty (CAP).

For the past month, colleagues have managed to collect 12 crates of food, including tinned goods, porridge, biscuits, tea bags, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoos and baby care items.

The collection has been so successful that the items will now be split between two foodbanks in the local area.

Our colleagues decided to support the cause after learning Vulnerability Strategy Manager Louise Bailey’s son, Jordan Daly, was a co-founder of CAP along with Liam Stevenson.

Both Jordan and Liam recently visited the office to collect the donations and thank everyone for all their efforts.

Neil Potts, SSE Employee Engagement Manager, said: “Everyone has been really supportive of the fundraising drive - we’ve collected enough donations to support two foodbanks in the local area.

“We also have a pool table in the break area where employees spend 20p on a game. The proceeds from this were also donated to CAP, raising 245 pounds which was then topped up with vouchers and cash to reach 527 pounds.”
