OREANDA-NEWS. Local giving is at the heart of Cargill Limited’s commitment to the communities where we live and work. We are thrilled to announce the winners of our “Together We Thrive” contest, recognizing the efforts of charitable organizations across Canada.

“We were impressed with quality of the nominations and amazed by the strong support they all received which has made it a very difficult choice,” said Jeff Vassart, President, Cargill Limited. “The impact that these organizations have is a testament to their commitment towards making their communities a better place to live.”

“Together We Thrive” encouraged charitable organizations in communities where Cargill serves to nominate their program/initiative for one of six $25,000 grants. Winners were selected based on a number of criteria including sharing Cargill’s giving priorities: food security and nutrition, education and environmental stewardship.

A total of 145 charitable organizations nominated projects ranging from support for local food banks to school breakfast programs to eco-projects. Winners were:

  • Lethbridge Food Bank – Lethbridge, AB
  • Dallas Valley Ranch Camp - Moosejaw, SK
  • Dauphin Food For Thought Program – Dauphin, MB
  • McLennan Breakfast for Learning Program – McLennan, AB
  • 4-H Ontario – Rockwood, ON
