OREANDA-NEWS. Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, changed the rules of temporary import of bonded cars.

Earlier, an initial period of temporary import of vehicles, which could be set by the customs office, was up to three months. Thus for leaving of the car for whatever reasons before the expiration of the term of the customs authority it was relied the mandatory payment of customs duties and taxes, in some cases comparable to the cost of a car of the middle class. In addition, it was envisaged administrative liability under the laws of the country, in which a car was declared during its import, informed the press service of the EEU.

The decision by the College of EEU as of August 18, 2015 abolishes the mandatory establishment by the customs authority of the initial term of temporary import of vehicles up to three months. The decision will eliminate the need of the application to customs authority, which is often located at a sufficient distance from the location of the citizen, to prolong the period of temporary admission. Therewith, the term of temporary importation should be established on a case by case, depending on the time of stay of citizens in the territory of the Union, up to the maximum period of temporary admission. For the citizens of the Union such a period is six months, for foreign citizen - a year.

In addition, the decision of the Board of EEU provides that even with an expired temporary import (but within the maximum), you can take the vehicle without payment of customs duty. Similar approaches will affect the already exported from the customs territory of the Union vehicles: if it was exported – there is no need to pay.
