OREANDA-NEWS. PrivatBank has partnered with international non-governmental organisation GOAL, in a new programme on financial assistance to displaced persons. Pay-outs start in December 2015. All of the bank’s branches operating in Luhansk region will be involved in the implementation of this important social project.

“We do our best to make recipients feel comfortable at the bank’s branches and provide payments as soon as possible. To succeed with that we have applied the most innovative technologies and experienced staff, - says Mykhailo Rogalskyi, PrivatBank Head of Payments and Transfers. - PrivatBank charges no fees for recipients on any payments or other transactions within this project”.

GOAL’s program will provide financial support to conflict-affected persons in the Luhansk region. Cash transfers are an increasingly common form of humanitarian assistance, protecting both the lives and dignity of those affected by crises, while also ensuring that humanitarian aid is spent as efficiently as possible.

“The conflict in eastern Ukraine has affected the income levels of displaced persons and local communities. We see families who, as a result of the crisis, cannot meet their basic needs,” - says Hannah Vaughan-Lee, GOAL’s Country Representative in Ukraine. - “Unconditional cash support allows those requiring assistance to choose their own primary needs and priorities, including such winter period considerations as shelter, heating and clothing.”

International non-governmental organisation GOAL has been assisting local residents and displaced people affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine, since June 2015. During the first stage of the programme people affected by the conflict in the Luhansk region, first of all the elderly, have been provided with personal hygiene kits.
