OREANDA-NEWS   Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin visited Ulan-Ude Locomotive and Car Repair Plant (LVRZ) during a working trip to Buryatia.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers, in particular, walked through the hardware, locomotive-wheel, electric machine and anchor workshops, greeted and briefly talked with employees, saw the equipment and got acquainted with the work of some machines. At one point Mishustin entered the train under repair and looked into the driver's cab. The plant was founded in 1934 and today is the largest repair plant in the structure of Zheldorremmash (a network of enterprises on the basis of which all types of medium and heavy repairs of locomotives, production of components, production of new locomotives are carried out). Among the main activities of the plant are repair of traction rolling stock, equipment, components and assemblies, production of spare parts for rolling stock. The company has mastered the repair of the entire line of AC electric locomotives, modernization with extended service life. The structure of the plant has locomotive repair and foundry-mechanical production.

In addition, LVRZ produces a wide range of spare parts for other plants of the holding, for rolling stock and operational divisions of Russian railways. Other industrial enterprises and private carrier companies are also clients of the company.

Currently, more than five thousand employees work here. The area of the plant is more than 111 hectares.
