OREANDA-NEWS  The timing of the launch of the production of anti-lock braking system (ABS) in Russia has become known. As announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade — Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, this will happen in 2023.

The Minister answered the journalists' question in the affirmative whether the production of these systems will appear in the country this year.

Manturov did not specify in which month the installation of ABS will again become mandatory for domestic cars. He pointed out that component manufacturers have promised to form a production program by the end of 2023.

"Based on this, we will return it to its own circles," the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade summed up.

Earlier it became known that the government extended the permit for the production of cars in Russia in a simplified form, which expired on February 1, 2023, for four months, until June 1.

The requirements allow to produce cars without anti-lock braking system (ABS), stability control system (ESP) and the Era-Glonass module, as well as below the Euro-5 environmental class.
