OREANDA-NEWS  Gas tariffs in Russia may increase by 8.5% from December 1, 2022. Such an indexation size for both the population and industry is provided for by the draft orders of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), posted on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

The change in tariffs is provided for by the forecast of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development. At the same time, the antimonopoly department stressed that in the future tariffs will not change for a year and a half - until July 1, 2024.

"The FAS of Russia will check the validity of the change in gas tariffs. Indexation will not lead to a decrease in demand for this energy resource, the volume of gas supplies for domestic consumers of the Russian Federation will increase taking into account the implementation of the gasification program," the FAS noted.

Against the background of the current level of inflation, tariffs for the population change below inflation, the antimonopoly service added.
