OREANDA-NEWS  The oil coming to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline may be of Russian origin. This conclusion was reached by the Tagesschau publication, which refers to a study by the Polish pipeline operator Pern.

The study of raw materials pumped through the system and extracted, according to documents, in Kazakhstan, showed that in chemical composition it is indistinguishable from what was supplied earlier. In addition, the journalists found out that the oil field, from which supplies are officially coming, partially belongs to Lukoil.

The Ministry of Economy of the Federal Republic of Germany did not respond to a request on how the verification of Russia's possible receipt of money for the supply of raw materials takes place. In this regard, Anna-Maya Mertens from Transparency International (the organization is recognized as undesirable in Russia) considers a sufficient set of evidence to study the role of Kazakhstan, which it supposedly plays in circumventing anti-Russian sanctions.

Russian oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline to Germany and Poland have been stopped due to the desire of the countries to reduce dependence on energy resources from Russia. In June 2023, this route was blocked for Russian raw materials as part of the 11th package of sanctions.

Meanwhile, the purchase of Kazakh oil and transportation via Druzhba is of great importance for Germany. In September, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for expanding crude oil delivery routes from Kazakhstan, including using the capabilities of other Central Asian countries.
