OREANDA-NEWS The Polish leadership in April presented a proposal for a new set of sanctions against Russia, which includes a ban on oil imports through pipelines and the supply of diamonds. This is with reference to the relevant document, according to Reuters.

We are talking about the closure of the northern section of the Druzhba oil pipeline, which goes to Germany. The initiative also includes limiting cooperation in the field of nuclear energy and the purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russian companies.

The proposal will be considered by the European Commission. According to the agency, it has become a touchstone before long and difficult negotiations over the 11th package of EU sanctions. Currently, there are already ten rounds of restrictive measures in force.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the new package would be aimed at combating circumvention of existing restrictions. In particular, it should close the possibility of supplies through third countries of spare parts and equipment that Russia uses in the course of hostilities.
