OREANDA-NEWS  More than 2 million product cards were blocked in the first quarter on Russian marketplaces, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation said in a statement.

In July 2023, the FAS, marketplaces, copyright holders and the non-profit partnership Association of Corporate Lawyers of Russia developed a document on the "application of good practices" to prevent the sale of counterfeit goods on marketplaces.

In total, 4.5 million product cards have been blocked since the implementation of this program.

"The blocking occurs based on the results of the analysis of complaints from copyright holders, as well as the results of examinations, control purchases and documents confirming the origin of goods. This allows marketplaces to make informed decisions," the message says.

According to statistics from marketplaces, counterfeit products are most often found among electronics, lighting, construction tools, cosmetics and sportswear.
