OREANDA-NEWS Russian courts have sentenced 19 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to the maximum penalty of life imprisonment. Such data were announced at an operational meeting with the participation of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Alexander Bastrykin in the city of Genichesk, Kherson region, Lenta reported.

Soon, the commander of the 1st battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade of the AFU Bova will be put on trial for criminal orders to destroy civilians in Mariupol. Currently, more than 180 criminal cases against the Ukrainian military on crimes related to ill-treatment of civilians have been transferred to the courts.

Investigators in absentia charged the deputy head of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), Brigadier General Vladislav Lischinsky, and the commander of the operational-tactical group "Vostok", Lieutenant General Oleg Vishnevsky, who held the post from April to December 2018, with committing war crimes against civilians. Also under investigation was Colonel Sergei Sirchenko, who in 2022 was the commander of the 56th separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, they gave orders for numerous shelling of settlements in Donbass, as a result of which 645 people were injured, including 43 children, 1800 objects of civil infrastructure were destroyed.

The TFR intends to put them on the wanted list, as well as to petition the court for arrest in absentia.
