OREANDA-NEWS  The special flight of the military transport aviation of the Ministry of Defense took out of Port Sudan some of the employees of the Russian embassy, who were transferred to this city from Khartoum at the end of July, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. The plane with the Russians on the morning of August 1 landed at the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow.

"Due to the high security risks in the conditions of ongoing clashes in Sudan, part of the employees of the Rosposolstvo transferred from Khartoum, as well as Russian citizens and family members who applied for assistance in returning to their homeland, were exported from Port Sudan," the ministry said in a statement on its website.

At the same time, the Russian Embassy in Port Sudan continues to operate normally.

On July 28, the Foreign Ministry announced that the embassy was temporarily withdrawn from Khartoum due to the ongoing fighting in the capital. The transfer took about a day, the diplomats got to Port Sudan by land, the opposing sides each provided protection to the diplomats on their territory.
